After taking the holy dip you climb upto the Ganapathi temple which is just a flight of steps away. Here you break a coconut and pray at the Ganapathi temple and various other deities in the same area. Below is a glimpse.
After praying here you move a little further to start the climb. The path to Sannidhanam is a series of steps, concrete flooring, rocky flooring, mix of sand and stones and now the developed areas which consist of tiled pavements with roofs. This 4 km stretch consists of steep climb, winding and turning which can be very acute and painful to many, for seasoned devotees this climb can be completed in 1.5 hrs and for those who are not used to it can take upto 5 hrs on a normal day. On busy days when devotees are pouring in this might take up to 12 hours including the waiting period. Ideally travel during the fist 5 days of the Malayalam month if you dont like too much of crowd.
