Roadtrip from Kochi to Munnar
The drive to Munnar from Kochi is a scenic drive and an eye soothing exercise . As you traverse Tripunithura, Muvattupuzha, Kothamangalam you get to see city and village life in various forms. The climb starts from the Neriamangalam and you start enjoying the forest while feeling a drop in temperature.
From Neriangalam till Adimali its a mix of village life and forest. Adimali is the town before Munnar and it is from here the hotels and resort start until you reach Pallivasal where you get to see the first glimpse of tea gardens.
As you move further you get to see lovely tea estates and factories; also enroute are the feeder pipes which propel the Hydro Electric power in Munnar.
Once you check into the hotel in the city or at a resort on the resorts you may unwind or proceed for sightseeing. It generally starts with the Eravikulam National park where the the endangered breed of Nilgiri Thars can be seen.
From here you move on to the KDHP Tea Musuem which is TATA tea Museum which is a landmark and a MUST VISIT place of interest
From here you move on to the Floriculture center where you get to see a variety of flowers , shrubs, creepers and cactus.
Going on further you get to see a natures wonder. One tree that has been a home to many beehives!!!!!!!!!!!! Its an incredible sight to see and believe.
You drive further to reach the Madupetty Dam and Kundala dam which a favourite haunt for tourist and these are exceptional scenic spots
Munnar has lots to offer more scenic spots like Top Station, Sunset point, Marayoor, Chinar etc are there besides seasonal joints like Spice Plantations, Elephant ride, Binocular points etc do crop up as well.
