Ayurveda means the Knowldge of life (Ayur=Life, Veda=Knowledge), is a medical science developed in India thousands of years ago. Legend says that it has been passed on to humans by the God. Today Ayurveda has developed and evolved from ancient Vedic literature by sages which lays out instructions to maintain health and in fighting illness through therapies, massages, herbal medicines, diet control and exercise.

Clarity on the three doshas is required to understand Ayurveda ie the concept of Vata-Pitta-Kapha. Inside the body, there are three doshas which govern the phyico-chemical and physiological activities. These three doshas are

• Vata (from ether and air),
• Pitta (from fire and an aspect of water), and
• Kapha (from water and earth).

An individuals constitution is remains constant through his life. A balance among the tridosha is necessary for health which in turn regulates the metabolism, anabolism and catabolism of our body and thereby its wellbeing.

TREATMENTS Ayurvedic treatments are carried out in over a course of a week on in multiple of seven i.e, 7/14/21/28 days based on your body constitution and your medical condition. This can broadly classified as under and the treatment and duration is decide by the doctor after a personal consultation.

PIZHICHIL: Treatment involves application of lukewarm herbal oils all over the body in a special rhythmic way
TREATS : Arthritis, paralysis, hemiplegia, paralysis-agitanus, sexual weakness, nervous weakness, nervous disorders etc

NJAVARAKIZHI: Treatment involves forcing perspiration from the body by external application of medicines pouches.
TREATS :Rheumatism, pain in the joints, emaciation of limbs, high blood pressure, cholesterol,certain skin diseases

DHARA : Treatment involves flow of herbal oils, medicated milk, medicated butter milk etc.
TREATS: Insomnia, mental tension, certain skin diseases etc

VASTHI :Treatment that involves application of herbals oils/ extracts through the rectum daily for a specified period.
TREATS : Arthritis, paralysis, hemiplegia, numbness, gastric complaints etc

SIROVASTHI :Treatment involves pouring ukewarm herbal oils into a cap fitted on the patient’s head
TREATS : Facial paralysis, dryness of nostrils, mouth and throat, severe headaches,etcs.

YONI PRAKSHALANAM :Treatment involves application of herbal oils and decoctions through the vaginal route.
TREATS : Gynecological disorders,purification of genital organs.

UDVARTHANAM : Treatment involves massage with herbal powder
TREATS : Hemiplegia, paralysis, obesity, rheumatic ailments,etc.

ABHYANGAM : Treatment involves special type of oil massage in which rhythmic strokes are given .
TREATS : Obesity, diabetic gangrene, etc.

NASYAM : Treatment involves applying certain herbal juices, medicated oils etc. through the nose.
TREATS : Headaches, paralysis, mental disorders, Skin diseases etc.

SNEHAPANAM : Treatment involves the intake of medicated ghee everyday, over a period.
TREATS : Osteoarthritis, psoriasis, leukaemia etc.

KIZHI :Treatment involves application of herbal leaves/ herbs/ herbal powders to the whole body with hot medicated oils.
TREATS : Osteoarthritis, arthritis with swelling, spondilosis, sports injuries etc.

DHANYAMLA DHARA :Treatment involves pouring warm herbal liquid all over the body in a rhythmic way with  a special vessel .
TREATS : Hemiplegia, paralysis, rheumatic complaints etc.

KATIVASTHI : Treatment involves keeping specially prepared warm medicated oil over the lower back with herbal paste.
TREATS : Back pain and spinal disorders.

UROVASTHI : Treatment involves pouring of warm medicated oil over the chest.
TREATS : Asthma, respiratory problems, heart diseases, muscular chest pain, etc.

KSHEERADHOOMAM : Treatment consists of fomentation with cow’s milk that is specially medicated.
TREATS : Facial paralysis, Bell’s palsy, speech disorders, nervous disorders of the face,etc.

THALAM :Treatment involves application of special powder mixed with medicated oil on the head.
TREATS : ENT problems, isomnia, migraine etc.

LEPANAM : This treatment involves the application of medicated herbal paste on the affected area.
TREATS : Inflammatory conditions.

MARMA MASSAGE : Treatment stimulates all the vital points called “Marma” of the body; helps  in attaining equilibrium .
TREATS : strengthening muscles and ligaments, gives relief to old trauma and injuries from sports, dance and martial arts.

LEKHANEEYAM : Treatment involves application and massage of herbal paste on the body in an upward direction.
TREATS : Obesity, cellulities, toneS up the muscles and skin.

THARPANAM : Treatment for the eyes; basically a cleaning process for the eyes,
TREATS : Eye diseases and strengthens the optic nerve.

MUKHALEPAM : Treatment with a herbal face pack with specially made herbal powder and fresh cream; good for the eyes.
TREATS : skin tone , wrinkles

KARNAPOORANAM :Treatment involves application of medicated fumes ears.
TREATS : Ear ailments

MEDICATED STEAM BATH : Treament involves application of steam over the whole body  by boiling herbal leaves and herbs.
TREATS : In eliminating impurities from the body, improveS the tone of the body reduces fat , skin diseases.
